BBK-owned smartphone brand Vivo has partnered with Carl Zeiss, a popular camera optics firm for its upcoming flagship series, X60, which is launching on December 29.
It remains to be seen whether not Vivo will offer Zeiss-powered camera sensors in smartphones across price ranges, but for now, the company has confirmed that its soon-to-be-launching Vivo X60 series is set to feature cameras optimised by Zeiss.
As per a report by XDA-Developers, Vivo has shared a new teaser poster of the X60 series on Vivo’s official Weibo account that confirms that this series will house a quad-camera setup on the back and one of which will be a micro-gimbal camera.
Other than that, the teaser image also shows that the series will come powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1080 SoC. The chipset is an octa-core CPU that is based on Samsung’s own 5nm EUV manufacturing process. It comes with one 2.8Ghz Cortex-A78 core, three 2.6Hz Cortex-A76 cores and four 2Ghz Cortex-A55 cores.
According to Samsung, the newly launched Exynos 1080 chipset exhibits a 50% increase in single-core performance and a 100% improvement when it comes to multi-core performance as compared to the Exynos 990.
