In 2020, people across the globe were forced to adopt a way of life that they themselves did not choose. Hit by one of the most dangerous viruses humanity has ever seen, the coronavirus pandemic forced citizens to make wearing face masks among other things like the restriction of movement to working form home an essential, with masks being a mandatory, part of one’s life. Due to the same restrictions, theatres shut shop and no films were being shot during the lockdown. But now that we have a better grip on the virus and know what all steps should one follow to not extract the virus, people including celebrities have started venturing out.
On Thursday, actor Aamir Khan took stepped out in Mumbai city and was spotted playing cricket with some young kids. And although he was playing well, not everyone was happy with him.
After a celebrity photographer posted a video of Aamir playing with the young boys on his verified Instagram handle, a few social media users including Kishwer Merchantt starting attacking the actor for not wearing a mask and jeopardising the lives of others.
In the video clip, one can see Aamir taking a few hits before taking his belongings including his mask and walking out. He, however, stopped for a group selfie with the children and a few others. He was seen without a mask as he clicked the group photo.
Reacting to the video, Kishwer Merchantt took to the comments section and wrote, “None of them wearing a mask? How? Why?”
Others too pointed out that the superstar wasn’t following COVID protocol. While supporting Kishwer, one user wrote, “Because none of them afraid from death.”
However, fans of the actor quickly jumped to his defence. One user wrote, “People need to breathe while playing a sport ..isnt that common sense.”
“If they wear a mask while playing they are going to suffer from shortness of breath. And anyways while playing they are quite far away from each other,” commented yet another user.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir Khan recently wrapped up shoot for his upcoming film opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, a remake of Hollywood film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks.
