A luminous cream blush is better than adding highlighter separately

Dia’s skin look is all about a fresh and natural glow, without being too greasy or too matte, and we can credit this to the fact that she doesn’t use metallic powders separately. Instead, she uses a shiny blush. Her cheeks are prominent, so she enhances them with a luminous cream blush which reflects light and makes the area look more spacious. This gives the face a healthy flush and plumps up the apples of the cheeks.

Many of us with large, round eyes struggle with mascara application. Dia’s look here is a great lesson. Her lashes are thickest and longest on the outer corners, and change the eye shape to one which is more lifted on the outer corner.
The trick is to curl the lashes on the outer corners more, and apply more mascara there from root to tip, leaving the lashes in the inner corner and centre of the eyes, alone. This helps the eyes seem more elongated and feline. If you were to apply the most mascara on the lashes at the centre, it would make the eyes look more round.

Not all of us have Priyanka Chopra’s pout, but that doesn’t mean we can’t create the illusion of a fuller lip when the mood strikes. Like Dia, you can apply a darker shade of lip liner on the outer perimeter of the lips, blending it towards the centre softly, leaving the centre blank. Then, use a lighter lipstick from the same colour family at the centre, blending the edges into the lipliner. This makes the lips look large at the centre and defined on the corners, creating a pouty effect.

You’ve heard of cat-eye makeup, but have you heard of puppy eyes? It refers to the practice of making the outer corners droop in a child-like way by concentrating dark pigments outside, thereby making the outer corners look heavier.

This opens up the face, because the outer part is darkened and defined, while the inner corners are light. Ideal for those who don’t want to make their eyes look close-set, it helps create the illusion of space between both eyes.

Full-coverage foundations have become safety nets for many of us, because they cover everything without us having to worry about concealing. But, they can look a tad cakey and heavy, not allowing our skin to breathe. Take a cue from Dia and embrace light to medium foundations with a luminous finish.

There’s nothing wrong with wearing pale nudes and dark brown lipsticks. But, it is true that they don’t always look natural when you’re going for a no-makeup look. Not only that, these colours can wash skin out if you’re not wearing foundation around the mouth, or have skipped bronzer. Plus, most of us don’t naturally have a concealer-like lipcolour.
Hence, if you want to create a “no-makeup” beauty look, you need something with some fleshy tones in it. So, even while opting for brown lipstick, look for peachy or pink undertones. While testing out nudes, look for something close to your natural lip colour.

Blush is one thing most of us don’t wear as a stark, statement makeup element. It’s meant to seem undetectable and natural, not stand out like eye makeup or lipcolour. If you’re among those who struggle with matching blush to lipstick, take a cue from Dia. Here, she’s wearing an apricot-hued lipstick with a blush in the same colour. When in doubt, just apply some of your lipstick as blush. It seamlessly connects one element of makeup—the lips—to another, which is cheek-colour.
