New regulations on rice, sugar, milk powder
The government has imposed new regulations on the producers, importers,collectors and distributors of rice, sugar, milk powder and maize.
Under a gazette notification, the government says the above-mentioned groups must register with the Consumer Affairs Authority.
The gazette notification also prohibits importing, producing, storing and distributing above items without registration.
These companies are also ordered to provide details of the food items in their stores to the authorities, within 07 days.
