NEW DELHI: Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched its latest rugged smartphone — Motorola Defy — in Europe. The company has launched the smartphone in partnership with CAT phone maker Bullitt Group.
The rugged Android smartphone comes with an IP68 rating which makes it dust and water-resistant. The company also claims that the smartphone can be submerged into 1.5 meters of water for 35 minutes. Along with this, the Motorola Defy is also drop-proof to 1.8 meters and it comes with military-grade certification and can withstand extreme temperatures.
The company has priced Motorola Defy for 329 euros and it comes in Forged Green and Black colour options. The company has announced that the smartphone will be available in select European markets soon.
Motorola Defy specifications
Motorola Defy comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 720×1600 pixel resolution. The Max Vision display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top. The company also claims that users can use the smartphone with wet fingers.
Motorola Defy is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB by adding a microSD card.
The smartphone runs Android 10 operating system and will also receive Android 11 update.
Motorola Defy comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor and programmable shortcut key with Push to Talk mode.
The smartphone sports a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 2MP macro vision camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. The front is home to an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
The rugged Android smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 20W Turbo fast charging support.
