EU foreign ministers on Monday reached a “political agreement” to impose targeted sanctions on those responsible for Russia’s jailing of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny and crackdown on his supporters, diplomats said.
The ministers, meeting in Brussels, asked foreign policy chief Josep Borrell to finalize the list of names of individuals to be targeted, but no oligarchs would be included, a senior diplomat told AFP.
